Sunday 1st XI Match Report

The Sunday 1st XI returned to winning ways with victory over Sleaford on our 37th meeting with them this season. Sleaford surprisingly elected to bat first on a challenging wicket and perhaps rued that decision as they were bowled out for 98. Rob Cook was the pick of the bowlers with marvellous figures of 10-5-11-3. Matt Picko benefited from his offspring's captaincy as he was brought into the attack first change, but justified the decision as he also claimed three wickets with his cunning mixed bag of deliveries. JimKim, Tom and Ted took one wicket each while Will W claimed a run out with the help of Euan Platt behind the stumps.

Will W and Ollie began the chase, but not for very long as the latter was run out early for one after discovering there isn't a single to the square leg fielder eight yards from the bat. The better Smith went soon after for one before JimKim fell for a duck, leaving Lindum struggling slightly on not many for three. Euan then danced past one to be stumped for 12, before Will holed out to mid-on for a patient 38. This left the batting bromance of Cooky and Will T to guide Lindum to victory, which they did just lovely as they finished on 24* and 23*to hand Lindum an eventually comfortable win.

P.S. Last Thursday, Lindum beat Revesby in a T20 to get our hands on the Major Holt Trophy, the first silverware of the season, after also beating Woodhall Spa and Sleaford in the other two games in the competition. YAY.
