The weather arguably prevented the 1st XI claiming victory on Saturday as they hosted Woodhall Spa at a soggy LCG. The visitors won the toss and unsurprisingly elected to bowl on a difficult batting wicket after Friday night's downpour. The total reflected the conditions as Lindum made 113-9 from the reduced 36 overs. Opener Will W returned to form with a superbly ground out 53. Skipper Charlie and model Angus were the only others into double figures, making 17 and 11 respectively, while Tom Lindsay also made it into double figures in terms of bars of Fruit and Nut bought from Cadbury World. Head to TripAdvisor to see his review of the attraction which is far superior to cricket.
Woodhall's response got off to the perfect start as far as Lindum were concerned as JimKim removed Woodhall's opener with the first ball of the innings, as he was caught behind by Lindum Cup winner, AP McCoy. Overseas pro Shane Barr then made the most of his first team debut by striking with two wickets in two balls, both LBW, to leave Woodhall reeling on 12-3. However, the rain inevitably came, and after successfully securing a bowling point in just five overs of play, that was that.
