The 1st XI bounced back from last weekend's disappointing defeat by convincingly winning away at Market Deeping. The hosts won the toss and bowled first, leaving Will W and his new opening partner Ozzy to face the testing batting conditions. Unfortunately, the latter fell early for a big fat 0, before numbers three and four, Charlie and JimKim, went for eight and six respectively. Rain breaks disrupted the innings, before Will W fell for another score in the 20s, this time 27. Thankfully, the pattern of early season returned as Will T and the recalled Euan shared a stand to rebuild the innings, scoring 23 and 43 respectively. Tom and Bish scored seven and six before Jake (14*) and Jonny (16*) put together a late partnership to guide Lindum towards a competitive total of 176-8.
Deeping's chase was quite unbelievable. One of the openers scored 42 before he was out, leaving the score on 65-2 from 13 overs. However, 11 overs and lot of single figure scores later, Deeping had collapsed to 96 all out, with Jonny claiming verrrrrry impressive figures of 6-10 from seven overs. His spin twin Jake claimed three while Will W claimed the other, allowing Lindum a very comfortable 80 run victory and a happy three hour journey back to civilisation.
