The 1st XI suffered a heavy loss on Saturday at the hands of local rivals Bracebridge Heath. The hosts batted first and posted a huge 363-4 from the 50 overs. After a positive start in which Joe removed one of BBH's openers in the second over, things went rather downhill. The other opener took full advantage of a difficult dropped catch to go on and make 196, while numbers three and four both made 50s. The other wickets went to Will W (2) and Charlie, who also bowled a no-ball which went well over wicketkeeper Bish's head which really isn't all that difficult. It's probably best if we don't go into too much detail with the bowling figures.

Lindum's reply was respectable despite a heavy defeat, posting 221 all out from 43 overs. There were contributions all the way down the order; Aidan made 25 and saw off two pacey county bowlers, Will W made 24 before being dismissed in a Carter sandwich, skipper Charlie made 41, Euan regained some form, making 31 before being cleaned up by a quick yorker, and JimKim top scored with 46 which included a couple of sixes after he mistook the ball for a duck. Anyway the game ended in a 142 run defeat but at least our finances didn't take a £500 beating. Onto Louth next week.
