1st XI Match Report

The 1st XI suffered their first defeat since the opening weekend when they traveled to Bourne on Saturday. The hosts batted first and posted an above-par total of 316-6 from their 50 overs. Jake Benson was the pick of the Lindum bowlers, taking 3-73 from his 14 overs, while there was one apiece for JimKim, Tom and skipper Charlie. Bourne's opener made 109 while their number four made 56.

Lindum never really looked like chasing down the total, as both openers, Aiden and Bish, made 30s in a steady chase. However when these two were out and Adam, Charlie, Euan and Tom fell cheaply, Will Taylor and James came to the crease. These two formed a solid partnership, with Will scoring 35 and James pummeling an unbeaten 98, a knock which included eight fours and five sixes. All that time spent eyeballing Lincoln players in the David Lloyd gym is finally paying off. Well batted James! Lindum closed on 235-8, taking seven bonus points from the game.
