The 1st XI continued their excellent start to the season with a convincing win over newly promoted Spalding. Lindum batted first and posted a solid total of 216-7, falling nine runs short of the maximum fifth batting point. After a somewhat shaky start in which the top four fell quite cheaply, Will T (54) and GailPick (44) continued their strong starts to the season to consolidate the innings. Bish and JimKim also chipped in at the end of the innings with a quick 25* and 18 respectively to put the hosts in a commanding position.
The total was never really in danger of being chased as Spalding lost regular wickets. Only the opener made a significant score of 43 as they were bowled out for just 95 in the 31st over. Joe continued his excellent form with the new rock, taking 4-27 from his 11 overs. James and Will took a wicket each, Benno claimed two and, on his return to the side, Jonny did what he does best by cleaning up the tail, taking 2-2 from nine deliveries. Behind the stumps, Bish took just the one catch and zero stumpings. #bringbackgail
