Lindum 3s returned home this week and hosted Scothern. The usual 'squad rotation' took affect once more with five changes to the previous week. The rain through the week meant a soft Barracks wicket awaited the two teams following some last minute preparations to be as match ready as possible.

Following the decision to bat first by the opposition, Lindum took the field with Ted and Glyn opening the bowling. This could not have gone better as three wickets fell within the first four overs before Scothern were then 16-5 after 10 overs, with Ted taking four within his first spell. Glyn doubled his tally to two by taking another in the 14th over. There was some resistance through the middle order before Kafait & Zac picked up a wicket each. Ted was then allowed to return and struck first ball (thanks in part to a flying catch behind himself by Zac!) before finishing off with the final wicket and his sixth in the 34th over of the Scothern innings. Scothern finished on 53 and Ted's figures were an impressive 9.3-4-15-6.

When the game resumed, Dan Hobson and Ben Fisher opened the batting and any possible fears of a difficult chase disappeared as Dan scored 22 very quickly before departing with the score on 30 in the sixth over. Martin joined Ben at the crease and they both comfortably stroked the ball around to reach the target in the 12th over.

A great win taking full points, but no time to rest as the league is still tight and an important game at Clee Town Laportes is up next.
