Lindum won the toss and decided to bowl on a slightly damp Barracks wicket following the rain on Friday.
Sophie and Rob opened, though a nosebleed restricted Rob to just the one over initially. Kafait took over in the opening partnership. Both bowled well with the conditions and were unlucky on a few occasions. East Halton concentrated well to build a decent platform with the score 83-1 off 23 overs at drinks, Kafait making the breakthrough. After the break wickets fell at regular intervals and the runs also flowed as the batsmen pushed up the run rate. Jon Begley came to the fore with 6-18 off eight overs, with Halton making 189 all out in 44 overs.
After a great tea, Nabil and Dan Hobson opened the batting but a familiar start to the innings followed as the score was 35-5 after 12 overs. Kafait (44) and Jon (36) continued from their bowling heroics to steady the innings and rebuilt very well. Unfortunately when the 91 partnership was broken with the score on 126, another all too familiar end to the innings followed as Lindum ended all out for 130 and a loss of 59 runs.
Another home game next week where Barton Town 2s visit the Barracks and fingers crossed that first win of the season is not too far away.
