The Exiles fielded a very young and inexperienced side where many u'14s made their debut in the Lincs league, as well as a newcomer to the club in Martin Carrick.
Bowling first, Sophie opened with a great spell and claimed an early wicket. After a partnership of 79, Eshan and Martin took a wicket apiece but this didn't steady the scoring as Holton-Le-Clay went on to finish on 190-7 from 45 overs. Sophie ended with three wickets and Martin took two.
The response got off to a steady start and early wickets fell as the score was 31-4 when the only batsmen to reach double figures, Tom Boiling and Jon Begley, fell. This is where the runs pretty much ended as the young side lost the last five wickets on 45 to finish 45 all out and suffer a heavy defeat by 145 runs
Its a break from the league as next week we take part in the Bob Welton Cup up at the Barracks.
