The 2nd XI maintained their 100% (loss) record with a defeat away to table-toppers Scunthorpe. Lindum batted first and after a reasonable start from openers Ollie and Ozzy, they collapsed from 25-0 to 25-3, with Ozzy making 15. Angus went in at five and top scored with 19 while Rob, on his kind of homecoming, made a resilient 14. No one else made anything worth mentioning, but the shattered bin in the away dressing room thanks to Dan's size 12s probably is worth mentioning. Lindum were bowled out for 84 in the 41st over.
Despite a brilliant bowling effort from Lindum, Scunthorpe knocked the runs off for the loss of four wickets in the 27th over. Wickets went to Dewy, Benno and Tom Lea, while the former also showed his fancy footwork to run out a batsman at the non striker's end off his own bowling. Mention also to Dan who tied Scunthorpe's batsmen, particularly one of the openers, in knots, but to no avail. We take a single bowling point and move onto Scothern next week.
