The 2nd XI suffered another poor defeat on Saturday, this time at the hands of Messingham. Skipper Benno lost the toss and Lindum were put in on a decent deck, but were skittled for not many for the third time in a week. Ollie and Max made the only meaningful contributions of 17 and 11 respectively as Lindum were bowled out for 60 in 22 overs.
However, despite not having much of a target to defend, Lindum put up a fight with the ball and took Messingham close. Tom Lea and Benno bowled excellently, taking four and three apiece to restrict the visitors to 38-7. There were also absolute snaffles taken by Benno, Adam and Dan Hobson. However, after 86 LBW appeals and a lot of plays and misses, Messingham ground out the final few runs to win the game by three wickets. A few more runs on the board would have made for an interesting finish. We go again!
